Museum Hours 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Wednesday–Monday, Closed Tuesdays

The Memorial Courtyard, Admiral Nimitz Gallery, Japanese Garden of Peace, and our new immersive experience, The Rescue, are open daily until 5:00 PM. The Pacific Combat Zone is open until 3:00 PM.

Bush Gallery to meaningful programs for all ages, there is something for the whole family to enjoy together this summer.

The Museum is also proud to participate in the Blue Star Museums program, offering free general admission to active-duty military personnel and their families through Labor Day.

The Rescue: An Immersive Pacific War Experience

Step into The Rescue, a fully immersive WWII experience following the true story of civilians and missionaries fleeing Japanese forces on the Philippine island of Negros in 1944. Guided by 7-year-old refugee Berna Real, guests journey through jungle environments before boarding the USS Crevalle for a daring submarine escape as enemy forces close in. This multi-sensory experience brings a powerful Pacific War story to life for visitors of all ages.

Step Inside the Newly Renovated Gallery

Discover the newly renovated George H.W. Bush Gallery featuring 38,000 square feet of exhibit space filled with immersive media, interactive experiences, and hundreds of newly unveiled artifacts from the Pacific War. Visitors can explore remarkable pieces of history including a Japanese Midget Submarine, a B-25 bomber, and a “Fat Man” style bomb casing.

Summer Events for the Whole Family

There is something for everyone to experience this summer at the National Museum of the Pacific War. From summer camps and hands-on activities for children to upcoming conferences, lectures, and adult programs, the museum offers engaging experiences for visitors of all ages. On select Saturdays, guests can also explore Living History Outposts where reenactors bring history to life through demonstrations and hands-on interaction with real artifacts and historical equipment.

Blue Star Program

The National Museum of the Pacific War is proud to participate in the Blue Star Museums program, offering free general admission to active-duty military personnel and their families, including the National Guard and Reserve, from Armed Forces Day through Labor Day. In partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families, this nationwide initiative provides military families the opportunity to explore the museum’s galleries together throughout the summer.
