The Rescue is Now Open!
Imagine yourself on the Philippine island of Negros in 1944. Japanese forces are terrorizing Americans and their Filipino allies. By spring, missionaries and civilians working in sugar mills and other industries are being hunted, becoming refugees.
In May, the USS Crevalle, a Balao-class submarine, is sent to rescue 25 Americans along with top-secret documents. But when it arrives, 40 passengers are waiting—including 28 women and children and three Bataan survivors. Many have walked over 100 miles through dense jungle, evading enemy patrols to reach the beach rendezvous.
Step into The Rescue and become part of this true story. Let 7-year-old Berna Real, one of the child refugees, be your guide. Follow her through the jungle where you will duck, hide, and survive.
Once aboard the submarine, you’ll encounter a Japanese convoy—and the Crevalle will dive into battle, just as it did en route to Australia. Feel the depth charges. Experience the danger alongside the crew, Berna, her brother Billy, and the other refugees.
This is a multi-sensory, fully immersive experience where history surrounds you.
(May be too intense for young children or those with sensory sensitivities.)
The Crew of the Crevalle were doing double duty on the trip - hosting passengers and continuing their patrol duties.
