After the attack on Pearl Harbor, American morale was at an all-time low. The Doolittle Raiders were sent on a highly secretive and dangerous mission to bomb Tokyo to retaliate. Toujours Au Danger (Ever In Danger) was their motto as they bravely flew into the unknown. The Doolittle Raid shocked Japanese citizens, who had been told their island nation was untouchable and sent American morale to soaring heights.
Watch as you get an exciting behind-the-scenes glimpse into the 80th Anniversary of the Doolittle Raid. During this 30-minute webinar, you’ll learn about the details of the surprise attack on Japan and how it boosted American morale at a low point of the war. You will also get to see a closer look at our Doolittle Exhibit and get to view artifacts, not on display from a Congressional Gold Medal, crew flight jackets, and a sailor's logbook from the USS Hornet.
