Activity Description

Step into the role of a Women Airforce Service Pilot (WASP) and take on the challenge of ferrying a B-17 bomber across the United States. In this interactive simulation, students plan a flight route, calculate distance, time, and fuel consumption, and navigate real-world complications like weather changes and mechanical issues. Along the way, they’ll make critical decisions, problem-solve under pressure, and experience the challenges WASPs faced while supporting the war effort.

This activity blends history, math, and teamwork, giving students a hands-on way to explore aviation, wartime logistics, and the vital contributions of women pilots during World War II.
