The movie, Oppenheimer, sparked new interest in the Manhattan Project, but of course, it only told a part of the story. In this short talk, Frank gives us the reasons why we started working on a nuclear bomb and what we thought was going to happen after dropping them to when the Emperor announced to the Japanese people that the war was ending. A very condensed, yet enlightening talk that set the stage for the rest of the Nimitz Conference.
