Veterans Day 2022 Commemoration

A time to honor those who have served, our Veterans Day Program this year is a moment to pay respect and show our support for the nation's veterans. We have both in-person and Livestream opportunities to tune in to this year's program at 11:00 am CST. Click on the link at the bottom of the page to watch online. This year's program will be held onsite at the National Museum of the Pacific War. LTG Michael Oates, USA (Ret) will be the speaker for this year's program.

LTG Michael Oates, USA (Ret) lives in Kerrville, Texas with his spouse Barbara. He is originally from San Antonio, Texas and served 32 years in the United States Army from 1979 to 2011. He served as Commanding General (Major General) of the 10th Mountain Division and Fort Drum, NY. and Director, (Lieutenant General) Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization, (JIEDDO) in Washington, DC. Additional significant leadership positions include Deputy Commanding General (Operations), 101st Airborne Division and Commander, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.

His military awards include the Combat Infantry Badge, Ranger Tab, Senior Parachute Badge, Air Assault Badge, Pathfinder Badge, 3 awards of the Distinguished Service Medal, 2 awards of the Legion of Merit, and 3 awards of the Bronze Star Medal. He has served 4 combat tours of duty in Iraq.
