Outpost: Women at War

May 9, 2026 10:00am - 3:00pm
Free Admission

When the United States entered World War II, women across the nation answered the call to support the war effort. They filled essential roles at home and overseas, working in factories and shipyards and serving in newly opened military positions across the armed forces.

This FREE Outpost program offers visitors an opportunity to learn about the vital contributions of American women during the Pacific War. Guests can interact with real artifacts while gaining insight into the work, service, and experiences of women whose efforts helped sustain the war effort and shape the outcome of the conflict.

Outpost programs are educational, drop-in experiences held on select Saturdays on the Nimitz Platz at 340 E Main St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624. Visitors of all ages are welcome to stop by, ask questions, and engage directly with history.
