Ever wonder what it was like to join the military during World War II? From being issued dog tags to undergoing medical inspections, Americans entered the armed forces through a process that prepared them for service overseas.

This FREE Outpost program offers visitors an opportunity to learn about the experience of joining the military during World War II. Guests can explore real artifacts while gaining insight into volunteering, the draft, and the steps service members took before heading off to war.

Outpost programs are educational, drop-in experiences held on select Saturdays on the Nimitz Platz at 340 E Main St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624. Visitors of all ages are welcome to stop by, ask questions, and engage directly with history.
