Outpost: The Spoils of War: Trophies in the Pacific
During World War II, American troops often collected souvenirs from their service overseas. These items ranged from everyday objects to military equipment and were taken as personal reminders of their experiences during the war.
This FREE Outpost program offers visitors an opportunity to learn about wartime souvenirs and the types of objects servicemen brought home from the Pacific Theater. Guests can examine real artifacts while gaining insight into why these items were collected and what they reveal about the realities of war and military life.
Outpost programs are educational, drop-in experiences held on select Saturdays. Visitors of all ages are welcome to stop by, ask questions, and engage directly with history.
