Outpost: Red Star, Red Sun: Soviet-Japanese Border Battles
While the Soviet Union is most often associated with fighting on the Eastern Front, it also played a role in the Pacific during World War II. Soviet forces entered the war against Japan in its final months, contributing to the defeat of Japanese troops in Asia.
This FREE Outpost program offers visitors an opportunity to learn about Soviet involvement in the Pacific War. Guests can explore real artifacts while gaining insight into Soviet troops, their equipment and weapons, and the role they played in the closing stages of the conflict.
Outpost programs are educational, drop-in experiences held on select Saturdays on the Nimitz Platz at 340 E Main St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624. Visitors of all ages are welcome to stop by, ask questions, and engage directly with history.
