Outpost: Pacific Vice - Law and Order in the Pacific
As large numbers of American service members moved through the Pacific during World War II, maintaining discipline and order became a major challenge. In places such as Australia, interactions between troops and local communities sometimes led to conflict and required careful oversight.
This FREE Outpost program offers visitors an opportunity to learn about how the United States military enforced law and order during the Pacific War. Guests can explore real artifacts while gaining insight into military policing, discipline, and the challenges of managing millions of service members far from home.
Outpost programs are educational, drop-in experiences held on select Saturdays on the Nimitz Platz at 340 E Main St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624. Visitors of all ages are welcome to stop by, ask questions, and engage directly with history.
