October 24, 2026 10:00am - 3:00pm
Free Admission

A Marine’s gear was his lifeline in the Pacific War, and every item he carried served a purpose. From weapons and ammunition to personal equipment, what a Marine brought with him could mean the difference between survival and defeat.

This FREE Outpost program offers visitors an opportunity to take a close look at the equipment carried by an American Marine fighting in the Pacific. Guests can examine real artifacts while gaining insight into how gear was used in combat and daily life during the war.

Outpost programs are educational, drop-in experiences held on select Saturdays on the Nimitz Platz at 340 E Main St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624. Visitors of all ages are welcome to stop by, ask questions, and engage directly with history.
