Outpost: Artillery
During the Pacific War, engaging well defended targets at long range often required the use of field artillery. These powerful weapons played a key role in softening enemy defenses and supporting infantry advances across island battlefields.
This FREE Outpost program offers visitors an opportunity to learn about field artillery in the Pacific Theater and the soldiers who operated these guns. Guests can explore real artifacts while gaining insight into artillery tactics, crew roles, and the impact of long range firepower during the war.
Outpost programs are educational, drop-in experiences held on select Saturdays at the Pacific Combat Zone, located at 508 E Austin St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624. Visitors of all ages are welcome to stop by, ask questions, and engage directly with history.
