Memorial Day 2022 Commemorative Event

Join the National Museum of the Pacific War as they remember those who gave their lives for the freedoms we enjoy today. The ceremony includes a guest speaker, a wreath-laying ceremony, music, and more.

Program Itinerary:

9:00 am: Patio doors open

9:30-9:55 am: Seating accompanied by live choral music by the Chancel Choir of the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church

10:00 am: Ceremony begins

  • Post colors by Navy JROTC
  • National Anthem by Chancel Choir of the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church
  • Pledge of Allegiance by Carleigh Hutcherson, NJROTC
  • Invocation by Craig Barrack, Youth Pastor at First Baptist Church of Llano
  • Welcome Address from Karen Stevenson, Museum Director
  • Musical Selection from Chancel Choir of the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church
  • Keynote address by Dr. Paul Phillips
  • Recognition of Memorial Wall Endowment Wreaths
  • Gillespie County Veterans Wreath Presentation by Canon Alrledge, NJROTC
  • Taps by Bill Smallwood
  • Retire colors by Navy JROTC


In case of inclement weather, the program will be moved from the Memorial Courtyard to the ballroom of the Historic Nimitz Hotel. This program is free to the public but seating is limited. When seats are filled standing room is available.
