Dave Holland is widely recognized as a leading Guadalcanal battlefield guide. He served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps as an infantryman and spent more than 26 years working as a law enforcement investigator. Dave lived on Guadalcanal for three years, walking the battlefield while researching and documenting the campaign firsthand.

He is the creator of the popular Facebook and YouTube channels Guadalcanal—Walking a Battlefield and has appeared on numerous podcasts and programs discussing the Guadalcanal land campaign. Dave lives in Canberra, Australia, and returns to Guadalcanal each year. His book Guadalcanal’s Longest Fight represents the culmination of years of on-the-ground research and study.
