Webinar: Fleet Admiral Nimitz & Naval War Heroes' Historic Wyoming & Yellowstone National Park Visit

Charity Roberts

As a young boy, Bob Richard met Fleet Admiral Nimitz and other Naval heroes when they visited Wyoming. Bob Richard for this book talk shares the amazing story of the visit that Nimitz and his staff made to Wyoming in 1946 as chronicled in his book, Fleet Admiral Nimitz & Naval War Heroes' Historic Wyoming & Yellowstone National Park Visit. As guests of Wyoming Senator E.V. Robertson, the journey of Nimitz and crew was filled with adventures that encompassed enjoying the Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo, visiting the Wind River Reservation for a Shoshone Pow Wow, fishing in Yellowstone Lake, experiencing Old Faithful, and much more. Bob's father, Jack Richard, was along for the entire trip and documented it in photos. This is a rare glimpse of a relaxed Admiral Nimitz enjoying leisure time and connecting with folks he encountered during the trip.
