Are you ready for something extreme? Something dangerous? Then you will want to join the Admiral Nimitz Foundation for our Annual Leadership Seminar on Friday, April 26, 2019, from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Barons Creek Conference Center located at Fredericksburg Inn & Suites.

 

This year we are expanding the program and offering you the chance to hear from two individuals with different leadership styles, followed by a round table Q&A with our speakers and other local business leaders. Each speaker will speak for one hour and answer questions after. 

 

Individual tickets to this seminar are $25 and include the seminar and cocktail hour after. Premiere Business Partners receive free admission(s) to this event with their business membership.

If you are traveling into town, Fredericksburg Inn & Suites is offering our guest a special rate of $93 + tax for the night of Thursday, April 25th. If you would like to book a room at this special rate all you have to do is call 830-997-0808 and ask for the Nimitz Foundation Leadership Seminar Discount.

 

The hotel has also asked that guest attending the seminar park at the museum or elsewhere and walk to the conference center. With it being a Friday they will have many visitors checking into the hotel and need to ensure they have parking for their guest. If you have questions about parking, please call the museum at 830-997-8600 ext. 225.

 

Speakers:

 

Keynote: Gen. Tom Kolditz, Army (Ret.)

We are honored to welcome Retired Brigadier General Tom Kolditz as our keynote speaker. During his one hour presentation, you can expect him to weave his personal experiences and abilities as a soldier, skydiver, and scholar into a first-hand study, analysis, and practice of leadership in dangerous circumstances-in extreme leadership-and how such leadership can inform the practice of leading in more ordinary settings. General Kolditz is the founding Director of the Ann and John Doerr Institute for New Leaders at Rice University in Houston Texas.  He led the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership at West Point for 12 years. He served for two years as a leadership and human resources policy analyst in the Pentagon, and a year as a concept developer in the Center for Army Leadership, and was the founding director of the West Point Leadership Center.   

 

Jayne E. Pope, Hill Country Memorial Hospital, HCM

Jayne E. Pope, RN, FACHE, MBA, is the Chief Executive Officer for Hill Country Memorial Hospital, HCM, a 2014 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipient. 

 

Prior to accepting the CEO position, Jayne served as Chief Nursing Officer at HCM. Formerly, Jayne was the CEO of Clinic Systems at a large network of clinics in Central Texas, which she led in achieving the highest level of Patient Centered Medical Home recognition.  

 

A visionary and strategic leader, Jayne has increased staff ownership of HCM’s key initiatives, resulting in empowered teams, remarkable patient outcomes and accelerated leadership development. Hill Country Memorial patient experience and Value Based Purchasing performance rank in the top decile of the nation.  

 

Jayne is a member of the Texas Hospital Associations Board of Trustees, and a Board Member of the Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals. She was recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of Americas 60 rural hospital CEOs to know for 5 consecutive years, 2013 through 2018. 

 

Mrs. Tammy Pack, Team Founder & Broker Absolute Charm Realty

After graduating from the University of Texas Law School in 1990 and practicing trial law for five years, Tammy moved to Fredericksburg and opened several retail stores and made a subtle, yet decisive entry into the B&B market. Her first venture was in 2001 when she renovated a 1910 Victorian carriage house and rented it out as a B&B.  

 

In 2007, she opened Absolute Charm B&Bs and Vacation Rentals, Fredericksburg’s premier luxury reservation service that represents over 140 properties today. Over the years she has bought, renovated, and sold 25 properties of her own and sparked her interest in real estate and helping buyers find Fredericksburg, TX homes for sale. 

 

Along with being very well versed in the hospitality industry, Tammy is also highly equipped to direct clients in the luxury home buyers’ market and ultimately find their dream home.  She has an enthusiastic vision for practically all properties that cross her desk; and in her opinion, when a property has a few superficial flaws that distract most people it usually equates to a great deal! 

 

Tammy has an uncanny ability to be able to mix business with pleasure.  She is an avid globetrotter, having visited over 35 countries, and believes that travel serves to open her mind to new ideas, ventures, and concepts that can be applied in her business.
