Day of Remembrance: Japanese American Internment

February 23rd, 2019 10:00am

On Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 in the Admiral Nimitz Gallery Ballroom, the National Museum of the Pacific War will mark the annual Day of Remembrance, an important date for the Japanese American community, with cultural activities and educational opportunities.

On February 19th, 1942 President Franklin D. Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066, authorizing the Secretary of War to prescribe certain areas as military zones, clearing the way for the creation of internment camps for Japanese Americans, among others.

Please contact Barbara Ford at 830-997-8700 ext. 225 or for more information.
