About

The Admiral Nimitz Foundation was established in 1971  to provide additional development funding for the Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz Naval Museum, a museum honoring Fredericksburg’s native son and Commander-in-Chief of Allied Forces, Pacific Ocean Area. Since then, the Foundation’s efforts have built a well-established and respected institution, which annually welcomes over 100,000 visitors, including about 15,000 middle and high school students from across the state.

The foundation manages and supports the National Museum of the Pacific War which is a Texas Historical Commission property.
