The Admiral Nimitz Foundation recently donated $17,745 to Operation Comfort of San Antonio as part of the foundation’s annual golf tournament. Each year the Admiral Nimitz Foundation selects a local nonprofit that supports veterans and their families as a co-beneficiary of the Nimitz Golf Classic that is held at Boot Ranch.
Operation Comfort provides support to our Service Members who have been wounded in Afghanistan or Iraq and are receiving treatment at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) and Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Wounded Service Members from all over the United States recover in San Antonio. For more information on Operation Comfort you can go to http://operationcomfort.org/.
Over seven years the Admiral Nimitz Foundation has been able to donate over $100,000 to local veteran nonprofits. “It’s great to be able to move the needle for smaller nonprofits that help those who have sacrificed so much for this country. We have a great group of donors who come to play golf every year, and Boot Ranch is a big support that makes our tournament the sellout event it is every year. If not for our donors we wouldn’t be able to help nonprofits like Operation Comfort.” Brandon Vinyard, Director of Marketing/PR for the Admiral Nimitz Foundation.
The Admiral Nimitz Foundation supports, operates, and manages the National Museum of the Pacific War which is a Texas Historical Commission property.
