Share Your Story and Inspire the Future
The museum has an active oral history program geared to capturing the stories of veterans, and the homefront. This program began in 1988 with the first symposium and has expanded over time—so far, our dedicated volunteer oral historians have interviewed over 4,000 veterans. The interviews are held in our museum archives and are made available to students, historians, and authors studying the Pacific Theater of World War II.
We invite you to share your story with us! If you are a World War II veteran or lived on the homefront during the war and you would like to be interviewed for our oral history archives, please contact Ed Metzler at 830-990-0749 or by email edlin@beecreek.net; or Charlie Simmons at 830-990-4143 (home) or 830-992-9927 (cell) or by email at simmcnd@aol.com.
If you have recorded your own oral history and would like to donate it to the museum, please contact the Archivist at 830-997-8600 Ext. 262.
